| Passage of the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended, required that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) assess impacts of water resource projects on federally listed plants and animals. Special permits and handling techniques are required to study these sensitive organisms. ERDC biologists survey project lands for this species, and use a variety of assessment methods to assess impacts of water resource developments.
